T-ball - Boys and Girls ages 4 to 6
Junior Softball – Boys and Girls ages 7 to 10
Intermediate Softball – Boys and Girls ages 11 to 14

T-Ball - is non-competitive fun time, teaching the basics of Softball and baseball. T-Ball games are played Monday nights from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Games are played at the diamonds of Alliston Union P.S.. The season starts the week following the May long weekend. The only equipment required for T-Ball is a glove. T-shirts are supplied thanks to our sponsors. There is a “T-stand” at home pate which the team at bat takes turns knocking the ball into the field. The Team in the field is arranged around the bases and along infield to catch the ball and throw to the bases. There is a tournament Saturday at he end of the season where the teams play off against each other, followed by a snack and a trophy presentation and pictures.

Junior Softball - is a little more competitive with the focus on learning Softball and Baseball skills and having fun. Junior Softball is played Wednesday nights at 6:30 pm with no new innings starting after 8:00 pm. Games are played either at Ruthven diamond (by Stephenson Memorial Hospital) or Gibson diamond (south of Alliston Union P.S.). Each team has a practice date during the week as well. The season starts the week following the May long weekend. Practices normally start in early May, depending on the individual coaches. The only equipment required for softball is a glove. T-shirts are supplied thanks to our sponsors. There is a tournament week, this being a round robin playoff schedule. There is one game on a Wednesday and two Games on the following Saturday. This is followed with a lunch and trophy presentations and pictures.

Intermediate Softball - builds on the skills from Junior Softball, with a focus on having fun. Intermediate Softball is played Thursday nights at 6:30 pm with no new innings starting after 8:00 pm and a second game at 8:15pm with no new innings starting after 9:45 pm. Games are played at Gibson diamond (south of Alliston Union P.S.). Each team has a practice date during the week as well. The season starts the week following the May long weekend. Practices normally start in early May, depending on the individual coaches. The only equipment required for softball is a glove. T-shirts are supplied thanks to our sponsors. Picture Day – There is a picture day for all players.

Coaches – are always required. Each team needs a coach and a assistant coaches. High school students requiring there community service hours can assist the coaches (please contact someone on the Executive about this).

Sponsors – The ALLIISTON MINOR SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION operates because of sponsors. As a sponsor of AMSA you will be helping support softball for children 4-14 in the Allison area. Your investment fee will purchase T-shirts for a team, with your company name, your team will be referenced in update in the Herald, a sponsorship plaque with team picture, as well as Trophies.
